Create a view

Views let you open one part of your inbox at a time. Each view is backed by a Gmail label, so your organization stays in Gmail.

Open the view creator

In the sidebar, find Views and select Add view.

02

Name the view

Give the view a clear name, such as Receipts. Mejl creates a Gmail label with the same name.

03

Add an automatic sorting rule — optional

Turn on Sort matching emails automatically if you want Gmail to file future matching email for you. In this example, subjects containing “receipt” go to the Receipts view.

Create the view

Select Create. The new view appears in the sidebar and the matching label is available in Gmail.

Good to know

Renaming or deleting a view also changes its matching Gmail label. Mejl keeps the two in sync.
