Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Mejl, the Gmail-based email client available at mejl.cc and related app surfaces. Mejl is operated by Niels Segers BV, a Belgian private limited company with VAT number BE 1011.064.058. In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Niels Segers BV, and “you” refers to the person using Mejl. By using Mejl, you agree to these terms.

We provide Mejl to help you read, organize, label, filter, draft, and send Gmail messages. You are responsible for the Google account you connect, the messages you send, and the labels, filters, drafts, rules, and other actions you create through Mejl.

You may use Mejl only if you can legally enter into these terms and only in compliance with applicable law, these terms, Google's terms and policies, and any rules that apply to your Google account.

We use Google OAuth so you can connect a Google account. You control whether to grant access and may revoke it at any time. We request access only for Mejl's Gmail features and follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your Gmail messages, attachments, labels, filters, drafts, and account information remain yours. You give us the limited permission needed to access, process, store, transmit, and display this information only to provide and maintain the service, perform actions you request, secure the service, comply with law, and troubleshoot issues.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness, or use it to train generalized AI or machine learning models. More detail is available in the Privacy Policy.

We may process selected text or relevant email and label information through AI service providers to provide writing and automatic labeling features. You are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted results before using them.

AI features are subject to reasonable use. We may limit or suspend access to these features if we reasonably believe they are being used unlawfully, through unauthorized automation, to bypass safeguards or usage limits, or in a way that materially harms Mejl or others. Normal mailbox activity is not considered abuse. Where practical, we will notify you and give you a way to contact support. Serious or repeated abuse may result in account suspension under these terms.

Mejl Plus is a paid subscription for the premium features shown before purchase. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until canceled. Stripe provides checkout, payment processing, invoices, and the billing portal. The price, billing period, and taxes are shown before purchase, and subscribing authorizes recurring charges to your payment method.

You may cancel through the billing portal or [email protected]. Cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the current paid period, with Plus access continuing until then. You must cancel a renewing subscription before deleting your account.

Payments are non-refundable and unused time is not prorated unless required by law. EEA consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw by contacting support. By activating Plus immediately, you ask us to begin the service during that period, and we may charge for the part already provided where permitted. Failed payments may be retried and Plus may be restricted when a subscription expires. We will give reasonable notice of price changes before renewal. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user data. No service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your Google account, devices, and credentials secure. Report suspected security issues privately to [email protected].

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves, as Gmail or Google API requirements change, or as needed for security, reliability, compliance, or maintenance. We do not guarantee uptime unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

You may stop using Mejl at any time. You can revoke Google access from your Google Account settings and can delete your Mejl account from the Account section in Settings. If you cannot access the app, contact [email protected] for help.

We may suspend or terminate access if needed to protect users, comply with law, prevent abuse, or address violations of these terms.

Mejl is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the service.

These limitations do not exclude liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.

We may update these terms when the service, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date above shows when the latest version took effect. Continued use of Mejl after updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.
