mejl

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mejl handles information when you use the Gmail-based email client available at mejl.cc and related app surfaces. Mejl is operated by Niels Segers BV, a Belgian private limited company with VAT number BE 1011.064.058. Mejl helps you read, organize, label, filter, draft, and send Gmail messages.

Information Mejl Accesses

When you connect a Google account, Mejl accesses the Google user data needed to provide the email client:
-
Google account information, such as your Google account ID, email address, name, and profile picture when Google provides it.
-
Gmail mailbox information, including labels, threads, messages, headers, snippets, message bodies, read state, drafts, sent messages, spam, trash, and attachments when you open or download them.
-
Gmail label and filter settings needed to create, read, update, delete, and sync labels, views, and filters.
-
Actions you take in Mejl, such as creating labels, changing label assignments, marking mail read or unread, moving mail to trash, saving drafts, sending messages, and configuring manual rules.

How Mejl Uses Google User Data

Mejl uses Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing email features:
-
Display your Gmail threads, messages, labels, unread counts, drafts, spam, and trash in Mejl.
-
Search and open mail when you ask Mejl to do so.
-
Create, update, and remove Gmail labels and Gmail filters that match your Mejl settings.
-
Apply labels, update read state, move messages, save drafts, send mail, and delete drafts when you request those actions.
-
Run mailbox sync and rule processing so label-based inboxes and manual rules stay up to date.
-
Troubleshoot, secure, and maintain the service.
Mejl does not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, interest-based ads, selling data, determining creditworthiness, or training AI models.

What Mejl Stores

Mejl stores limited information needed to operate the app:
-
Your connected account record, including email address, name, profile picture URL, and Google account ID.
-
OAuth access and refresh tokens so Mejl can access Gmail after you sign in. Stored tokens are encrypted at rest.
-
Gmail connection records, view settings, label names and IDs, manual filter settings, excluded processing views, mailbox sync cursors, and sync state.
-
Limited mail-processing logs, such as Gmail message ID, sender, subject, summary, matched labels, processing status, and timestamps, so Mejl can apply and explain rule activity.
-
API session records used to keep you signed in.
Mejl reads message bodies and attachments from Gmail to display them or act on them when you use the app. Mejl does not sell message content or make it available to advertisers.

Sharing And Disclosure

Mejl does not sell Google user data. Mejl does not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide, maintain, secure, or comply with the service.
-
Google APIs are used to access and update your Gmail account with your permission.
-
Infrastructure providers may process data on Mejl's behalf for hosting, storage, security, logging, and operations.
-
Data may be disclosed if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Mejl, or others.

Security

Mejl uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user data, including encrypted OAuth token storage, HTTPS transport, server-side sessions, and access controls around production systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but Mejl works to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration.

Retention And Deletion

Mejl keeps Google user data for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can revoke Mejl's access from your Google Account permissions at any time.
To request deletion of your Mejl account data, contact [email protected]. When your account is deleted, Mejl deletes stored account records, OAuth tokens, Gmail connection records, view settings, excluded processing views, sync state, queued sync jobs, and mail-processing logs associated with that account, unless retention is required by law or security needs.

Your Choices

-
You can choose not to connect a Google account.
-
You can revoke Mejl's Google access from your Google Account security settings.
-
You can delete or change labels, filters, drafts, and mail directly in Gmail.
-
You can request account data deletion by contacting [email protected].

Changes To This Policy

Mejl may update this Privacy Policy when the app, data practices, or legal requirements change. If Mejl changes how it uses Google user data in a material way, Mejl will update this policy and ask for consent where required before using Google user data for the new purpose.
