Move to Mejl from Superhuman or Spark

Your mail is already in Gmail, so there is nothing to import. Sign in with the same Google account, then recreate your inbox groups as views.

Updated October 20, 2026

01

Sign in with the same Google account

Sign in to Mejl with the same Google account you used in Superhuman or Spark. Mejl reads your mail directly from Gmail, so there is nothing to import or export. Your messages, labels, and Gmail filters are already there.

02

Recreate your split inboxes as views

Superhuman split inboxes and Spark Smart Inbox groups stay in those apps. In Mejl, create a view for each group you want to keep. Each view is connected to a Gmail label and shows its own unread count. See Create and manage views.

03

Sort new mail into your views

Open Automatic sorting from the account menu. On the web, it is under Settings. Choose a view, then add Gmail filter rules for exact senders or subjects, or describe what belongs in the view and let Mejl sort it. If you used Superhuman Auto Labels, a description is the closest match. See Sort email into views.

04

Add your snippets and learn the shortcuts

Templates and snippets from Superhuman or Spark do not transfer. Open Snippets from the account menu, or from Settings on the web, and add the ones you use most. On the web, press Command-K or Control-K for the command menu, and see the keyboard shortcuts for the keys you already know, such as J, K, R, and #.

05

Remove the old app’s access

When you no longer use the old app, remove its access to your Google account. Open your Google Account, go to Security, then to your connections to third-party apps, and remove Superhuman or Spark. Cancel any paid plan in that app first.
