Open the newsletter and choose Unsubscribe from the more menu. If it keeps coming, block the sender so new email goes straight to Trash.

Open an email from the newsletter, then open the more menu (…) in the conversation. Choose Unsubscribe. Mejl opens the unsubscribe page that the sender linked in the email. Finish the steps on that page to stop future email.
If an email has no unsubscribe link, or the sender keeps writing after you unsubscribe, choose Block sender in the same menu. New email from that address goes straight to Trash. You can find and unblock senders later in Blocked senders, in the account menu or in Settings on the web.
If the email is unwanted bulk mail that you never signed up for, choose Mark as spam in the same menu instead. Mejl moves it to Spam in Gmail.
For the newsletters you want to read, create a Newsletters view. Then open Automatic sorting and describe what belongs there, for example “Newsletters and digests I subscribed to.” You can also add a Gmail filter rule for each sender. New issues go into that view, so you can read them when you have time. See Sort email into views.
